TPA professors deliver integrated courses to young staff and students

Five short courses of integrated petroleum studies co-organized by Total E&P Vietnam, TPA (Total Professeurs Associés) will be held at the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, with the aim to provide knowledge and professional skills to young staff and senior students. TPA is a non-profit association, was established in 2001 with a main purpose to make a knowledge link between petroleum companies (Total Group) and worldwide institutions. TPA professors teach students with professional experiences and state of the art techniques in the field that they are expert. They know how to deal with practical issues and they teach how to do with a specific task for students. An integrated weeks course named Petroleum Projects Management was initiated on 19 October 2009 at Room 804, 12 Storey C Building, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. This is the first among five short courses planned to delivery at the University to the end of November 2009 and early 2010. This course is instructed by Professor Alain Lepage (TPA), who has 14 year (1966 – 1980) experience in subsea construction, 25 year (1980 – 2005) experience in project director of offshore petroleum developments for Total Group in UK, Quatar, Thailand and Myanma, and also was a professor of project management at the Ecole Centrale Paris up to 2005. Most of course participants come from the University and a significant number of participants from PetroVietnam Headquarters (Vietnam National Petroleum Group – PVN) and PVN subsidaries such as PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), PVEP Bach Dang, and Research Center for Petroleum Exploration Production – Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI); and Petronas – a Malaysia National Petroleum Company. The courses are mainly supported and funded from Total E&P Vietnam, TPA and the University of Mining and Geology. The courses are also sponsored by a number of traditional partners of the University: PetroVietnam Headquarters and PVN subsidaries such as PVEP, PVEP Bach Dang, VPI; and Petronas.
